14.65 million men & women suffer from thyroid dysfunction, and more than half of these people go untreated. Since I created this page on 17 December 2000, I have received feedback from a variety of readers. The contents have been edited to answer the questions I have been asked, in order to give back to the community that helped me when I was looking for answers. Please note, this is only one personal experience. I simply aim to add some flesh to the statistical bones.

NB: If you haven't visited in a while, I have updated the content quite a bit, so you might want to go through the pages again for the new information. I realised that there were quite a few things that I've forgotten to mention that occured previously to any form of treatment I had.
